Press Release: Search veils of female muslim students before each exams – GMSA

The Ghana Muslim Students’ Association (GMSA) National Secretariat has issued a press statement which asks examination officials to search the veil of every female muslim student before allowing them into the examination halls.
This follows an incident that occurred on Monday August 3rd at the Action Senior High school, Madina-Adenta,  where some students of Anisah and Mercy senior high schools were forced to take off their veils before writing their WASSCE.
According to examination officials of the center, they did that to check examination malpractices.
This caused a brief outrage on social media. The national GMSA coupled with some individuals were able to restore calm there by ensuring that the students were made to take their second papers but with their veils on.
In the view of that, the below press release has asked officials at every WASSCE center to search thoroughly each student with a veil on before allowing them to sit for their examination.
