Nyansapo Literacy Project extends to more Schools in Accra and Kumasi

Nyansapo Literacy a United Way Ghana project which is being implemented by Mother of all Nations Foundation has spread its tentacles to more schools within Accra and Kumasi. These schools include Al Waleed Comprehensive Basic School, the Nima cluster of schools in Accra and Wataniya Islamic School in Kumasi.

According to the director of the project, Zico Abubakar Ishaq Newton, the literacy project has been initiated to help improve the reading and writing skills of students in basic schools across the country.

He added that, Nyansapo volunteers have already conducted an assessment exercise on students of Al Waleed Comprehensive Basic School at Kanda on Monday, March 10 to determine their phonemic awareness, reading and comprehension skills.
“Our volunteers have undergone a training
workshop in preparation for the successful expansion and implementation of the program in the selected basic schools in Accra.” Mr. Zico Abubakar Ishaq Newton stated.

He also added that another training workshop will take place on Thursday, March 12 in Sawaba, Kumasi to train the Kumasi volunteers .
