Judgement day for Palmer vs GFA, what are the possible outcomes of CAS’ verdict?

Today, Tuesday August 4, the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) will sit on Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer’s case against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and give it ruling.

Wilfred Osei Palmer in October dragged the now-defunct Normalization Committee led by Dr. Kofi Amoah as it president to CAS to seek justice for an ‘unfair’ disqualification from contesting for the Ghana FA presidential elections last year.
The Tema Youth Bankroller was disqualified on two counts, the first for failing to pay the mandatory 10 percent of Joseph Paintsil’s transfer fee to the GFA following his transfer to Belgian side KRC Genk in 2018. The second was for failing an integrity test.
Kurt Okraku eventually won the elections to become Ghana’s new GFA president, however, Palmer, who deemed his disqualification as ‘inequitable’ dragged the case to CAS to seek justice.
After several months of waiting and what could possibly be an end to a case that has created tension and agitation in the football circles, CAS will today, Tuesday August 4 hear the case and pass it verdict, but what are the possible outcomes of CAS’ verdict?
There are three things likely to happen, if the plaintiff Palmer wins the case or if his disqualification is deemed unfair, the results of last year’s election will be declared null or void. A fresh elections would be held on a proposed date.
The second if Palmer wins the case is that he could be declared of wrongdoing, but no new elections will be held.
And if CAS throws out the case, Kurt Okraku will continue to serve as GFA president.
It is my hope that the outcome of the verdict will be accepted in good faith by both parties.
