“How do I feed my family?” – Kwesi Appiah cries

Former manager of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah has accused the current Ghana Football Association (GFA) of deliberately deciding not to settle his unpaid salaries.

Kwesi Appiah who was sacked by the new administration in December 2019 was on a $35,000 monthly salary when he was in charge.
The former gaffer hasn’t received his salary from August 2019- December 2019, which in total makes $175,000 and winning bonus of $10,000.
Kwesi Appiah, who has reportedly ordered his lawyers to serve the GFA with a demand notice, giving them just seven days to make payment or he will report the case to FIFA.
Speaking in an interview with Starr FM Sports, the former Black Stars manager descended heavily on the current FA, branding them as “disrespectful”.
“I decided to keep quiet on my salaries issues all these while, but I think if you are working with someone and you are no more, the best way is to give the person whatever he deserves and there will be peace,” he told Starr FM.
“The question is how do I feed my family? Meanwhile I quiet remember when they took over, Dr Kofi Amoah gave them $1,000,000 and I even understand there is also some $500,000 from FIFA or whatever, the bottom line is you should look at the essential ones and try and sort it out.
“But it looks like they don’t care, but this is monies I have worked for and they are not telling me anything which I feel it doesn’t show sign of respect.
“So I have told my lawyers to deal with it,” he added.
Kwesi Appiah was replaced by C.K Akonnor as Black Stars manager.
